Now that Government of India have acceded to the demand of army men to ONE RANK ONE PENSION, what disables them to extend the same gesture to workforce in State Bank of India, or say the other public undertakings as a whole in the country? The retirees from State Bank of India are hankering for such a nod from the governmental quarters, say for ages. One government comes and goes out with a new one in the saddle but on listening to the groans of the aged employees of State Bank, many of them being super citizens, the present government too is as negative as the earlier one. Why? There is no valid an answer to discriminate. Workforce belonging to State Bank of India, the oldest Bank as Bank of Bengal, are the first liners in loyalty and commitment to the nation at the cost of their sweat and blood even sacrificing their family life and their cries do deserve a priority based consideration without treating them just like a dead wood thrown in the galleries. Perhaps the present government like their predecessors want the retirees of the Bank to sit on a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and in the process, if it comes to that, lay down their life. Tell them, ye the Masters, that this is your requisition as against agreeing to the age old demands of the terribly agonised souls, several of them starving.
