A very very Happy Mother’s Day:

On most auspicious an occasion like Mother’s Day today, my hearty good wishes to all throughout the world which we are living in. In fact it is too meagre an expression to call only a particular Day as Mother’s Day as Mother is the one phenomenon who has all the days in a year to her command and that way each day has to be dedicated to her. She is a love incarnate and the one keeping the whole world going on epochs after epochs and eras after eras. But for her the whole world might not have been there the way it is in existence today. One may not necessarily have a son, a daughter, a sister, a brother, a wife, a husband or any type of a relation on this earth, but there is none without a mother. I lost my mother, my  mother divine,  23 years back but there is hardly any day  still I pass without remembering her and my mental faculties are never prepared to miss her in my thoughts. Certain cruel instances of sons and daughters ignoring their Mother are there every now and then but they are the ones who very much deserve the similar type of ill treatment as from their progenies when they themselves grow older. One may believe in God or may not but none is supposed to have an audacity of not believing or ignoring a mother. A mother is supreme, a mother is divine, and all of us owe her our life.

  1. Respected Sir,
I touch the feet of all mothers from the core of my heart not only on the mother’s day but every day of my life . Sir, it is very correct that there is none without a mother either human being or all mighty God. Sir, I have read that once in Shantiniketen a Kabi gosthi was organized to write a poem on the Gurudeo . A student named Tenli from China wrote that Gurudeo Rabindra Nath Taggor was a mother of us . And sir, his poem had been declared best..

  3. The instance so quoted by you is a memorable one. Otherwise too Tagore had a heart as tender as that of a mother and Tenli of China, as quoted by you, was quite correct in describing him as such. I too have to take care of my youngest daughter Pariksha as a mother only after she lost her mother a decade back. I have to look after her both as a father and equally as a mother so that she is able to minimise the pain of missing her mother. One has to live his life like it is so destined. My thanks with affection.

  4. I agree with your point of view, Neelkanth. Every day, should and is Mother’s Day. To make such a big deal out of one day of the year, gives an excuse to those who otherwise neglect this point.

It seems that here in Canada, it is industry that pushes the day? With greeting cards, flowers and chocolate industry in fore front. They really do not care whether Mothers are honoured or not? As long as they can make money from guilt associated with those. Who feel they need to make a special effort to impress. Like other days of the year, the unscrupulous choose days to “honour” all walks of life. When the reality is; treat each other with respect and to do unto others as you would have done unto you.

  5. Possibly you are not receiving the regular posts on the revived blog Avenues (not Avenues2). I am getting the benefit of your reply to this post as it was sent to you separately. If you don’t mind, please ‘follow’ it afresh. My thanks with regards.
