Looks ridiculous but is a fact that Shiv Sena and MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) combine are putting their utmost pressure on Central Bank of India to select only the locals in the examinations being held for the purpose of recruitment. Such a pressure is not a new one as it dates back to 2008 when they disrupted the process of Railway Recruitment Board for the appointment of the new candidates under the slogan of ‘Sons of the soil’. I already wrote on the topic vide my post in this very blog as https://uppermost.me/2012/09/12/sons-of-the-soilwhat-sons-and-which-soil/ . Maharashtra can’t be treated as a parallel country as it is as good as other states within it. To isolate a particular state just to accommodate the whims and fancies of some particular political parties is not only unjust and unfair, it is equally anti constitution of the country. The Central Bank of India, as a report says, has already put on hold the tests held so far agreeing in a way with what the protesters wanted. Succumbing to pressures like this has no justification. Why those who raise a demand like this don’t realise that, if what they say is finally acceded to, it amounts to all the Mumbai based Maharashtrians serving in different states elsewhere being sent back to Mumbai itself. If locality based recruitments are there in Mumbai, it amply means, and it has to mean as such, that they too have no scope for being recruited elsewhere.
Cry for recruiting locals once again!

SIR, NOT ONLY IN CASE OF RAILWAY RECRUITMENT BOARD, THE MAHARASHTRA NAVNIRMAN SENA (MNS) IN NOVEMBER 2009, WARNED THE STATE BANK OF INDIA MANAGEMENT ALSO INSISTING THAT SBI SHOULD NOT ALLOW OUTSIDERS TO SIT FOR THE TEST IN MAHARASHTRA AND THAT ALL VACANCIES SHOULD BE ALLOTTED TO LOCALS ONLY. SIR, INDIA IS A FREE COUNTRY AND OUR CONSTITUTION HAS GIVEN US RIGHT TO CONDUCT/DO OCCUPATION OF OUR CHOICE ANYWHERE ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THIS ACT OF MNS IS AGAINST OUR CONSTITUTION AND THEIR LEADERS SHOULD BE BOOKED UNDER BREACH OF CONSTITUTION. MARATHIS ARE ALL INDIAN FIRST. MNS HAS GONE MAD. THEY NEVER TALK ABOUT NATIONAL ISSUES, DEVELOPMENT ISSUES, SOCIAL MORALS,AND SO ON. IF THEY HAVE GUTS, THEY SHOULD FIGHT CORRUPTION, CHILD ABUSE, PROSTITUTION, TERRORISM ETC. AND SHOULD STOP PREACHING RUBBISH. THEY ARE PUSHING INDIA TOWARDS SOCIAL, ECONOMICAL AND POLITICAL BACKWARDNESS. MNS IS A DISGRACE TO THE SECULAR AND DEMOCRATIC INDIA.

I not not have much gripe with the idea of protecting regional interests. But in a country like Canada, jobs are not restricted to citizens of one Province over another. In fact, the opposite applies. Where it is expected to have a transient workforce, to uproot and go where the jobs are. That those jobs are available to whomever is legally permitted to work, in the country. With the exception of certain jobs, that only citizens of Canada can apply for.
More common is the secret club, of lodge members. That never shows up in the job description. Yet, strangely? Too many jobs get filled by. So a job application is seldom filled by those from the other end of the country, or not local. Not unless you’re unionized, or have the right credentials. Talent and aptitude seem to be low-down on the list, of the employer. Except for the jobs in big box stores, or fast food joints. Where the employee is under-appreciated and under-paid.
The other exclusion, are those people called “first-nations’. The aboriginal inhabitants ostracized, indifferent ways. In years past, subjected to genocide and enforced “education” by authority. An authority that allowed those secret societies to flourish.

Politicizing every issue or face of life has become a trend and these cases of pressurizing are making it more difficult to lead a normal life…also the balance between the citizens from different part of the country stumbles seeing such partiality. by such actions more discrimination is added ..
