Stalwarts earlier belonging to All India State Bank of India Staff Federation met in a congregation at Chandigarh on 5th and 6th of February’2013. It was the third meeting in annual sequence –the first one was held at Puri (Orissa) followed by the next one at Kolkata. The meeting was quite well meant and the participants from every nook and corner of the country joined it bubbling with full enthusiasm and high spirits. The congregation was organised by the Chandigarh Circle of State Bank of India Staff Association in a grand manner sumptuously rich in hospitality. K.K. Bandlish, ex President of All India State Bank of India Staff Federation, lent his monitoring skill to ensure that the participants were amply entertained. They were also taken on an outing for local sight seeing of the places of the historical importance. In the absence of any prominent item on agenda, the meeting served more the purpose of a get together. The need and the purpose of the Forum requires spelling out some broader areas to be brought into its fold aimed at some tangible orientation of a mission without which it gives more a look of a club than that of a service area. With this end in view, it has been decided by the Forum to meet at Chennai in a smaller group shortly to work out the necessary modalities for the purpose. The pension issue in State Bank was, however, the most popular subject matter of talks during the meet.
