There is a story in Mahabharat. When Pandavas, being Yudhishthir, Bheem, Arjun, Nakul and Sahdev, were exiled by the Kaurwas and were leading their life incognito in some forest, they felt thirsty. Yudhishthir sent one of them to fetch some water from the nearby pond. He did not return. The remaining ones too were sent one by one but none of them came back. At the end, Yudhishthir himself went there but there was no trace of any one of his four brothers. Before Yudhishthir could try to fetch some water from the pond, there appeared a demon and stopped him telling ‘Look, I have decided that I will permit only that person to fetch water from the pond who could answer my question. Since all your brothers who tried to fetch water from this pond were killed by me one by one for the reason that they failed to answer my question, you too have to meet the same fate but before I kill you, I am giving you a chance to answer my question. If you answer my question satisfactorily, you can take water from the pond and I will bring your brothers back to their life; if not, I obviously will kill you too’. Yudhishthir asked for the question. The question the demon raised was ‘What is the biggest wonder in this world?’ Yudhishthir replied ‘People see others dying every day but they continue committing wrongs after wrongs to satisfy their lust without any restraint’. The demon was happy. He restored life to all the brothers of Yudhishthir allowing them to fetch as much water from the pond as they wanted.
Om Prakash Chautala, four times Chief Minister of Haryana, and his son Ajay Chautala, an MLA, have been awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment by the CBI Court in the junior basic teachers recruitment scandal perpetrated at their instance. There are 45 others, including an IAS rank officer, who have been awarded punishment varying from individual to individual. Rigorous punishment to the guilty is not a new thing, nor there is any secret in it, it is some thing that happens every day, and Chautala and his bogie of accomplices must have known it well before hand. Despite that he involved himself in a criminal conspiracy is like the same wonder as answered by Yudhishthir.
