Times without number it has been highlighted in this blog that the retiree pensioners in State Bank be given necessary relief in their take home pension amount for the main reason that age wise all of them are in the wrong side. Retirement age being 60, all retirees are supposed to be above this age. There are many who are in their mid eighties. Years beyond 60 are the years of limpingly loose legs for one’s life confronted with several ailments with a demand for heavy medical expenses. As is the perennial behaviour of our society, there are many in their much advancing an age disowned by their family members with the result that there is none to support them in such a predicament. Money is the need of every body, but such a need is much more in the case of senior citizens for their survival. Their main problem is that they can’t wait much for the results as life expectancy in their case is residually too meagre. They laugh when some body tells them to wait for some time as time left at their disposal is normally too short. Theirs is a case of priority on urgency footing, and if there is an inordinate delay in making necessary relief available to them, this shall be too late. Delaying decision in their favour means no decision at all. I am requesting my valued readership to treat this post as an appeal for generating and mobilising an atmosphere in favour of the retirees so that it could reach the authorities that be, or even judiciary. The voice raised by the people in general is a weapon powerful enough to reach the ears that count. Please be with them as a matter of a cause and a mission.
