Popularity at what a cost?

One can go to any extent seeking as much of a popularity as possible. This is a greatest weakness on the part of the mankind, nay all live beings, after sex. No gainsaying that the people do want a recognition in the field they work and this encourages them the most. There are experts who are always well prepared to offer their advices as to how one can gain popularity in a bigger measure. Such advices at times are the crude ones, or say somewhat embarrassing, which are not compatibly feasible for every one to follow. A lady co blogger, Rebecca, who is quite a popular one in her writings on ‘verbal ejaculation’ suggested certain effective measures of popularising a blog in a recent post of hers seriatim including the one that one should listen to her ‘vagina’ and work accordingly. The topic, as she explained, is so interesting that there is an instant response from the readers side in a sumptuous manner. Sharing her own experience, she said that with this very reference in her post she could elicit a reply from as many as 300+ readers immediately after it was published. She deserves admiration for such bold an expression, but the question is if others could equally afford it. Talk on sex directly is capable of drawing more of an audience compared to just a suggestive one. Does it mean that people have to talk of sex only simply because it attracts more audience and the readers? Sex does have a positive side but it doesn’t attract the readers that much. What actually attracts them is a robustly naked sex which  may stimulate arousals but can not form a healthy reading. Talking of sex is much different than talking the same with a blatant exposure. Topic of sex is a matter of grace and it is not to be vulgarisedly compromised simply for the sake of popularity.

  1. As you likely know? Sex for homo sapiens is governed by the lower chakras? Since, people in the “western world”, mostly operate in the lower three chakras It’s hardly surprising. That the culture of sex is prevalent. It is also said the Asians, Hindi and others, mainly operate in the lower four chakras. It needs a discipline to raise ones consciousness, into the higher three. Seldom do we meet people who live in the upper three, anywhere in the world.

Yet when we do, it is immediately obvious to the discerning. To gain those upper chakras, the kundalini rises above desire for the worldly. Into the realm of compassion. True love without attachment, for all creatures; both animate and inanimate. A living that is natural to aspire to. Seldom achieved, The desire to be heard and respected, really falls short of reaching higher. It seems to this reader. In christianity the phrase; be thou as a child to enter the kingdom of heaven. Is an example, of how to gain that serene state. For me this is what life’s lessons are about and whether others feel it is popular, hardly matters? Doncha’ think?

My Granny used to say, to me. “Empty vessels make the most noise”. So, when I see the culture of popularity. Like any publicity, is good publicity. Explains a lot of motivation for them, in that desire for popularity.

Which epitomizes your own last sentence here. …… Cheers Jamie!

    1. Your grip on ‘Chakras’ and ‘Kundalini’ amazed me. These are the areas possible to practice only by the people who are not only knowledgeable but are equally enlightened ones. My respect for you has grown further on these counts. Yours is a wonderful description on the topic. My sincere thanks for the comment.

      1. My dear neelkanth,
Thank you so much for your kind reply to my comment!

To be “enlightened” Means to be in the light. While i sincerely appreciate your well meant comment, about me. I must disagree with your conclusion. Often the “spiritual ego” can be an impediment to achieving that enlightenment. Sometimes a greater obstacle, than a material ego.

While I have spent some time in pursuit of “enlightenment”. Since it is my belief this is the reason for our life. I know that I’m still far away from that goal. What I have gained, are some insights and knowledge as I grow older. Yet, like yourself; we are but children on that path of wisdom.

  2. There are two sayings that are familiar in every news room across the country: 1) sex sells; 2) if it bleeds it leads.

  3. YES, I AGREE THAT POPULARITY IS VERY IMPORTANT. HOWEVER, POPULARITY IS NOT OF ABSOLUTE IMPORTANCE. IF AS A BLOGGER, YOU WANT TO GET SUCCESS AND POPULARITY THEN YOU MUST NEED TO PROVIDE UNIQUE AND INFORMATIVE IDEAS, RATHER THAN USE SEX AS STAIRS, TO THE READERS OF YOUR BLOG AND YOU MUST CHOOSE THE NICHE CAREFULLY. YOU WILL HAVE TO TELL YOUR READERS ABOUT THE THINGS WHICH DIFFERENTIATE YOU FROM OTHERS. I AM IN FULL AGREEMENT WITH YOU THAT SEX BEING A MATTER OF GRACE, SHOULD NOT BE VULGARISEDLY COMPROMISED FOR THE SAKE OF POPULARITY.
